Rail Systems Alliance Scotland has awarded Forte Engineering a framework contract to provide electrificationand plant services across the Scotland rail network for the next 5 years.
Rail Systems Alliance Scotland is a partnership between major players in the rail sector in Scotland including Network Rail, Babcock and Arcadis. Their purpose is to deliver renewals and enhancements in CP6 & 7. They have a programme of renewals works throughout Scotland including works at Levenmouth and Carstairs.
Works are now complete on a new £33 million train depot and staff accommodation facility at Cadder near Lenzie, including the construction of three new service platforms and night time accommodation for six High Speed Trains (HSTs). The Installation and commissioning of the New High Voltage infrastructure has allowed the New Headquarters of the RSAS Alliance at Cadder to become fully functional.
Forte Engineering started working with RSAS in November, delivering 2 packages of work
1. Domestic Renewal Works
Works to-date have included the provision of signalling power and junction power at Barnhill.
2. Project Works
Forte are currently undertaking asset and full route survey works on the Highland mainline loops at Tomatin, Moy, Dunkeld and Carrbridge.
